England outplayed India in all three formats of the game in their recent home series but ODI skipper Alastair Cook says beating M S Dhoni's men in their backyard in an ODI series next month would be a lot tougher task.
Stating that Indian team would be"itching"for revenge, Cook said,"Of course it will be difficult over there. They will have a point to prove and the conditions will obviously suit them. I doubt we will see much green grass on the wickets we play on.
"They are world champions at home and itching to get revenge. It is down to us and how we cope with conditions and how we play. The best players adapt for more details....

Former Indian skipper blasts media for hype over Sachin's 100th ton
Former Indian skipper Kapil Dev today criticised the media for giving too much importance to statistics and individual performances without taking into account its impact on the outcome of the match.
"You are more keen about Sachin's (Tendulkar) 99 hundreds and not about how we are going to win the next series. I am not saying don't give credit to individual performance, but it should not be more than the country's performance.
"Everyone knows Sachin has 99 centuries. But how many know that how many of these matches have ended in victories? Everyone knows Sunil Gavaskar has scored 34 Test for more details....

We have not clicked as a team: Gambhir
As his team slumped to a second straight defeat, Kolkata Knight Riders skipper Gautam Gambhir lamented that they have failed to click as unit in the Champions League Twenty20 cricket tournament. Kolkata last night lost to South Australia Redbacks by 19 runs while chasing a very stiff target of 189. They had lost the opening clash against Somerset by five wickets.
Gambhir said they played well in patches and fielding particularly was found wanting."If we could have taken the catches, they would not have got 188. It is part and parcel of the game. Sachin-Dravid weren't exactly match winners says Shoaib
Former Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Akhtar -- the man who has bowled the fastest delivery in the game -- has just published his autobiography. The book, Controversially Yours, will sting like Akhtar's deliveries.
In the book, Akhtar admits he tampered with the ball on many occasions-- a flagrant violation of the rules of the game. Akhtar bowled at 161.3 km/h once -- pace that is yet to be broken. Akhtar claims ball tampering is routine in cricket and"everyone"does it.
Taking his controversial claims further, he says Indian cricketers Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid are no giants in the game.

Little Master writes to ICC CEO asking for changes in ODI format
The ODIs are perceived to be on the decline and it's none other than Sachin Tendulkar who has now come out publicly in support of revamping the current 50-over format having written a letter to ICC CEO Haroon Lorgat.
Tendulkar, the world's highest run-getter in both Tests and ODIs and someone who is on the threshold of his 100th international century, wants ICC to make"a radical switch"from 50-50 to four 25-over innings.
Apart from reducing the number of overs per innings, Tendulkar has also proposed several more changes for the ODIs.

Gautam is as good as Indian captain MSD: Balaji
Kolkata Knight Riders'Laxmipathy Balaji says skipper Gautam Gambhir is as good as Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni when it comes to leading the side.
That KKR moved beyond the league stages of the IPL for the first time, in the fourth edition of the tournament, was due to Gambhir's captaincy, Balaji felt.
"I think our new skipper Gautam Gambhir played a pivotal role in the turnaround of the fortunes of the team. He always used to set an example for the rest of the team-members. He always led from the front and I have no doubt whatsoever that leadership skill wise, Gautam is on-par with MS Dhoni at the moment,"Balaji said.
"The way he backed his players to the hilt and stood behind the team was absolutely brilliant. He handled the pressure very well and inspired us all to perform at our best. His attacking field placements helped us apply more pressure on the opponents,"the pacer from Chennai for more details....

Kolkata Knight Riders skipper Jacques Kallis is pleased with they way his team dealt with the absence of Gautam Gambhir as they began their quest to qualify for the Champion League T20 with a win over Auckland Aces.
Gambhir, the regular skipper of the side, suffered concussion during the recent disastrous England tour and was forced to skip the tournament.

ODI Retirement? Dravid will play last match today in Cardiff
Rahul Dravid'The Wall'of indian cricket taking retirement today from One Day International Cricket (ODI) in last match ongoing series against england in Cardiff. As you know many things have happened to Rahul Dravid on this England tour. He made his maiden century at Lord's, fulfilling a desire that was born the day he made 95 on Test debut at the ground 15 years ago.,
He opened for the entire Test series barring the first innings of the first Test, and ended up with the Player of the Series trophy on the visitors'side. He walked in the second innings of the third Test at Edgbaston believing the umpire's word for a caught-behind when replays conclusively showed the ball had kissed an aglet on his left shoe-lace. He was shocked to hear the news that the he was part of the Indian one-day squad as reinforcement after injuries had ruled many of the frontline players. He played his first and last Twenty20 international where he hit three consecutive sixes, the most by an Indian in the match. Tomorrow Dravid will not only pull curtains on a"bittersweet"tour but also on for more details....

Rahul Dravid is hoping to mark his 344th and final one-day international appearance with a long overdue first victory over England this summer for India.
The 38-year-old admits this summer has been a"bitter-sweet"experience, as he has continued to churn out runs in vain while India first of all lost their number one Test status to England in an unexpected 4-0 series romp for the hosts, then were second best in a one-off Twenty20 and are 2-0 down with only one to play in the NatWest Series.

The final opportunity for Men In Blue to win the last ODI Match
A question was constantly addressed to the International Cricket Council award winners at London on Monday—“The Indian team did not turn up, your remarks?” The replies ranged from the diplomatic“ask-them” to the non-committal“I don't know.”
And then a British television scribe lightened the mood when he asked cricketer-of-the-year Jonathan Trott:“The Indian team has not turned up this entire summer and why do you think that happened?”
The query highlighted the World Cup winner's inability to live up to its mighty reputation throughout the tour, which has been blighted by defeats and lack of spirit.
“The Indian team is a very good team and don't get me wrong on that,” replied Trott. However, that was no consolation for the followers of the squad, who watched the halo of M.S. Dhoni's men slowly dissipate in England.
The fifth and final match of the NatWest series at the Sophia Gardens here on Friday offers the last chance for India to reveal intent and true worth despite all its woes, ranging from missing key players to for more details....

Will Indian skipper give Rahul the perfect send-off?
Will India skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni give former captain and senior pro Rahul Dravid a fitting send-off on Friday?
Dhoni’s gestures in 2008, when former captains Sourav Ganguly and Anil Kumble retired from the game, spoke volumes about the man. Dhoni let the combative Ganguly lead the side for a brief period against Australia in the final Test in Nagpur.
Earlier in the series, he’d carried Kumble on his broad shoulders after Jumbo had played his last Test in New Delhi. He also made sure that India’s greatest wicket-taker was there at the podium to receive the trophy after they’d wrapped up the series 2-0 in the Orange City.
Though Dravid has so far failed to set the stage ablaze in the final ODI series of his career— he’s managed a meagre 55 runs at 13.75 from four matches— it’s his overall tally— 10,820 runs from 343 ODIs at 39.06— which commands utmost respect.
Dravid is the second highest scorer ever in Test cricket but hasn’t done badly in ODIs, in which he is seventh in the all-time list, ahead of players like Brian Lara and Mahela Jayawardene.
Dhoni has always made at least one gesture to honour a senior cricketer who has announced retirement from international cricket. After the World Cup triumph, arguably the greatest moment of their lives, Dhoni and his men chaired Sachin Tendulkar on their shoulders for a for more details....

He let the combative Ganguly lead the side briefly against Australia in the final Test in Nagpur, while carried Kumble on his broad shoulders. He also made sure that India's greatest wicket-taker was there at the podium to receive the trophy after they won the series 2-0.
Though Dravid has so far failed to set the stage ablaze in the final ODI series of his career, managing a meagre 55 runs at 13.75 from four matches, it's his overall tally - 10820 runs from 343 one-dayers at 39.06, which commands utmost respect.
